The Boston Marathon is the oldest annual marathon; it started all the way back in 1897. Held on Patriots day, the 3rd Monday of April, it was originally a local event but quickly its fame and status attracted participants from all over the world. The marathon is now one of the Five Marathon Majors.

The marathon starts in quaint Hopkinton with its white weatherboard houses, and then goes up and over Heart Break Hill, finally finishing in Boston. It is a fantastic challenge and if you can take on this challenge you can take on anything
