WOW - what a wonderful day and best of all Nina's SunDance early in the day kept most of the rain away! The Walk the Walk team had been on site before the birds were even awake making sure that everything was ready before thousands of walkers, their families and general spectators descended on Ashton Court Park for the 4th SunWalk in Bristol.
The walkers were a riot of colour and the bit of rain that did land first thing did not prevent all those fabulous bras from making an appearance! Girls and some guys you really did us all very proud.
As we counted down the time towards the start of the challenge everyone got busy sampling all the goodies from Lavera, Pukka and Whole Foods in our SunWalk Experience Village. Massages were given, tattoos were applied and the WalkWear stand was frenetic with everyone wanting to buy our latest designs. Nick from GWR kept us entertained and before too long our fabulous T shirt competition winners were up on stage receiving their prizes
Next up on the stage was our warm-up maestro Roy Gayle! As always he got everyone going...walkers, volunteers, staff and all the spectators. Little Harrison was a fantastic assistant!
With the warm up done, encouraging words from Nina were given and then the walkers on the half marathon were off!
Several hours later the first walkers started to arrive back, where they were met by a carnival of volunteers, stilt walkers, clowns and very happy family members! It was a fantastic day and as the last walker left at 4pm the sky went black and down came the rain - now that's timing!

More...: Challenge pictures!" Dear All, I completed my first SunWalk on Sunday having run several Half Marathons in the past prior to a serious back injury 2 years ago. It was a fantastic day and the best organized event I have ever taken part in. Congratulations to all the organisers and to Nina for being so inspirational. I was walking with 3 friends who had all had breast cancer and received support from many people who had had it. Just by wearing my tee shirt to my pilates classes brought me in some extra sponsorship! I am looking forward to taking part again next year. " Jane
